Council Policies

The Council owns and manages St Columb Major Cemetery, located in Trekenning Road. This policy overviews associated costs, application processes and regulations.

The Council operates a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system to ensure a safe and secure environment for residents, staff, councillors, and visitors, as well as to prevent the loss or damage of Council property.

This policy sets out the procedure to ensure there is compliance with legislation and continuity of procedures in the co-option of members to the Town Council.  The co-option procedure is entirely managed by the Town Council and this policy will ensure that a fair and equitable process is carried out.

The Localism Act 2011 requires the Council to adopt a Code of Conduct for Members.

This procedure allows people to have a form of address to the Council if they feel they have a complaint, or have been unfairly treated in their dealings with the Council staff, Councillors, the Council or its Committees.

This policy and supporting procedures are designed to promote and maintain compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK Data Protection Act.

There is a clear need to retain documentation for a variety of reasons including audit purposes, staff management, tax and VAT and the potential eventuality of legal dispute and proceedings.

The Council has defined a policy for the display, timing and type of flags that are permitted to fly from the Town Council flagpole.

This policy sets out the permitted times during which food may be prepared and served to the public at the Football Club pavilion premises.

The financial risk management is managed through the Financial Regulations and the Stategic Risk Management Policy.
