No rise in the precept per household

A message from the Mayor of St Columb Major, Cllr Scot Taylor:

As many of you will have noticed, the new council tax bills are now beginning to land on doormats across our community.

We understand that this comes at a time when many households are already feeling the pressure of rising costs and the ongoing challenges of the cost of living. These are not easy times, and we want to acknowledge the impact this has on residents.

This year, Cornwall Council has increased council tax by 4.99%, which is the maximum permitted.

Against that backdrop, we are pleased to report that St Columb Major Town Council has made the decision to keep our precept at a 0% increase per household. This means that the portion of your council tax that goes directly to the Town Council has not gone up this year.

We have worked hard to balance the need to support and invest in our community while also being mindful of the financial pressures facing residents.
